Drowned Dresden 5 — Five Years of The Drowned Earth in Germany

Can you believe Drowned Dresden has been running for five years already?

From 10th–12th July 2026, Drowned Dresden returns to Dresden, Germany, for its fifth anniversary — and this year Martin has something special planned.

Many of you will know Martin as Atreju. Drowned Dresden was his brainchild from the beginning, and over the last five years he has built it into one of the real highlights of The Drowned Earth community in Germany. He has also done a huge amount more broadly as head of the Wayfarers programme, helping support players, promote the game, and keep the community growing.

This year’s event is not just a chance to play some games. Participants will receive a special present, and there will also be an event where players can help shape and form the world of Ulaya together. This is separate from the upcoming Winter Campaign, but will also feed into it — giving players a chance to directly influence the direction of that ongoing campaign.

There will also be the chance to play on what may be the highest table in wargaming: 1.12m from top to bottom. Don’t slip off the vines. It is a long way down.

And, of course, there will be plenty of other beautiful tables to explore, games to play, and hobby time to enjoy.

The event runs for the full weekend, from 10th–12th July, and tickets are 10€ for the weekend or 5€ for a day ticket. Coffee, tea, soft drinks and small snacks are included.

Never played The Drowned Earth before? No problem. There will be miniatures available to borrow, and plenty of people happy to give you an introduction to the game.

A huge thank you to Martin for creating Drowned Dresden, keeping it going, and doing so much to promote The Drowned Earth in Germany. Five years is a real achievement, and it is exactly the kind of community-led event that keeps a game alive.
